Evaporator

The evaporator is a key component of the vehicle's air conditioning system and is responsible for the actual cooling of the air in the vehicle interior. In this component, the liquid refrigerant evaporates, thereby extracting heat from the passing interior air.

After the refrigerant liquefies in the condenser and is expanded via the expansion valve, it enters the evaporator at low pressure. There, it absorbs heat from the air flowing through it and changes from a liquid to a gaseous state. This process cools the air inside the vehicle.

The evaporator is usually located in the heating and ventilation box behind the dashboard. A blower motor directs air over the evaporator's finned structure, ensuring efficient heat transfer. Simultaneously, moisture is extracted from the air, helping to dehumidify the interior and prevent fogged windows.
